Creative spaces in the heart of a historic mill district in Lawrence, Massachusetts.

Union Crossing is an eco-conscious redeveloped mill building located in the heart of Lawrence, MA with creative work spaces & commercial spaces on the first two floors, and over 60 units of affordable housing on upper levels. As a project of Lawrence CommunityWorks (LCW), a nonprofit community development organization committed to physical redevelopment and community empowerment in Lawrence, Union Crossing is part of the larger community change that we believe is possible through the arts and creative offerings. 

 

Join our community of artists & entrepreneurs in our Island Street Studios (formerly Union Crossing Creative Work Spaces), or build out your business/organization in our ground floor commercial space. With our Arts Crawl: Lawrence events 3x/year, drawing people from across the Merrimack Valley, we offer opportunities for showcasing, exposure, and networking in our creative community!

Join our ISLAND STREET STUDIOS

The Island Street Studios at Union Crossing are work-only studios for artists, makers, entrepreneurs & organizations located in a historic mill building in Lawrence, MA. Our 27 studios vary in square footage from 205-535 square feet, allowing you the option of selecting a studio perfect for your artistry or creative work. With exposed brick walls, 12-foot ceilings, city and river views, magnificent windows, and historic mill surroundings, the work spaces are perfect for your remote creative incubator or office space, and are accessible in our secure location at any time of the day or night. Flexible leasing options, opportunities to share/co-op spaces, and rents (including heat & AC) ranging from $225-$675/month.

      

Attracting creatives from across the Merrimack Valley artist community, Union Crossing members are invited to participate and take advantage of the larger Lawrence Community Works network, events, workshops, and creative community action.

With approximately 4,800 square feet of available ground floor space, Union Crossing offers a place to house your creative business, organization, services or offices. The space can be built to suit your needs, allowing you the opportunity to envision and create a space that works for you. With flexible leasing options and rents starting from $10/sqft., we can work with you to bring your space into reality in our Union Crossing community. Our energy efficient building systems (heat & AC) and beautiful views over the Merrimack River offer an environmentally conscious place to grow your business or organization.

 

With the convenience of designated parking spaces, easy access to the commuter rail, I-495 and I-93, the building is situated perfectly for access to clientele and recieves high visilibity and traffic with our Arts Crawl events and the activity of the district.

Union Crossing is conveniently located withing a half mile of I-495 and walking distance from the Lawrence commuter rail stop. The building is just a few steps from historic downtown Lawrence, home to a variety of shops and restaurants. The Studios are proximal to the Bell Tower Cafe, the Essex Art Center, the Ayer Clock Tower and Lawrence General Hospital
